After having donated 50 Dingo Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the German Army was left with a significant gap in it’s MRAP fleet. To remedy this issue, a framework agreement for an initial order of 50 vehicles will be signed in the coming weeks. The framework agreement covers a total order of up to 233 new Dingos.

The Dingo is manufactured by KNDS Germany (formerly KMW) and has seen operational use in Kosovo, Afghanistan, Mali and more recently in Ukraine.

Funds for the backfill plans will be allocated by the budget committee of the Bundestag by the end of next week. At the time of release of this article the contract value has not been disclosed. The funds will not be covered by the regular defense budget, but from a seperate fund also used for Ukraine support.
