On July 10th, Germany and the Netherlands signed a framework agreement with the German-based Rheinmetall for the acquisition of their Caracal 4×4 infantry mobility vehicle. In total, the Framework agreement calls for 3,058 units in up to 12 variants worth 1.9 billion € (~2 billion USD).

As part of the framework agreement, a contract was signed for the purchase of 1.508 units worth 870 million € (~955 million USD). Of this order, 1004 units are meant for Germany and 504 for the Netherlands. An additional 1.550 units can be ordered under the agreement of which 1.050 are reserved for Germany and 500 for the Netherlands.

First deliveries to both customers are expected to take place in early 2025.
