Germany has signed a new framework agreement with Rheinmetall as well as increasing the volume of an existing agreement. The new agreement calls for 1.2 billion € (~1,35 billion USD) worth of 155mm artillery shells, fuses and propellant charges. This new agreement runs until 2029.

In addition an existing framework agreement for DM121 (SMArt 155) was increased from 109 million € (~123 million USD) to 246 million € (~280 million USD).

Under both agreements Germany immediately ordered 127 million € (~143 million USD) worth which includes both live and training ammunition. Delivery of these shells is to “take place shortly” according to Rheinmetall.
