The Netherlands has awarded a contract to General Dynamics European Land Systems for their Improved Ribbon Bridge system. In total 3 systems with a combined length of 225 meters will be delivered from 2025 onward. In addition to the bridges, the US based Birdon was also contracted to deliver new push boats used in the construction of the Improved Ribbon Bridge. The IRB system is also compatible with the M3 motorized pontoon ferry used by other NATO members.
